Frankie Rose wrote an amazing dystopian story where the characters come face to face with life altering decisions, either to help themselves or to help others. The world that was created was so detailed yet contains so many mysteries that I can't wait to unfold completely. Book one is just the tip of the ice berg, I feel like Frankie Rose has many more up her sleeve. I enjoyed how the book went from being sterile of all emotions to showing a variety. I just loved the whole storyline. I really find dystopian interesting because they author had free reign to do whatever they want not like for example if the story was about fairies it needs Mab and Oberon. Dystopian stories are just so original!
I loved Kit!!! She went from an emotionless drone to an emotion filled character. I loved the internal struggles that she was dealing with, to wear or not to wear her Halo, and what to do about her feelings for Ryka. I also liked how she was willing to compromise her freedom in order to help others escape. Ryka started off as kind of a jerk but I have fallen in love with him. I think he shares a lot of the same morals with Kit so they will make an excellent couple. I can't wait to see what happens.
Clearly, I will be continuing on with this series. It's to amazing not to. I need to know what happens to these characters. I would recommend this book to dystopian lovers and those who appreciate a good YA read!!

Hey guys,
1- this item is dang near hard to find available in most local shops ( IL ).
2- The shipper sent the item immediatley, ordered on Tues / received on Thurs.

When the package arrived I couldnt believe there was anything inside. These boots are extremly light. I strongly suggest going to the UA site and reviewing their sizing chart. They say the best way to measure for their shoes / boots is by;

"To find your foot measurement at home, closely trace your entire foot onto a piece of paper and measure the drawing from heel to toe. Use the size chart to find your CM measurement and matching UA Footwear size. If your measurement is between chart numbers, we recommend sizing up."

This is day-1 of the wearing. The traction is great as I transition from outside to indoor surfaces, from gravel / blacktops to waxed office areas. So far the boots are pretty comfy, there is a wear-in period, but after 12hrs, not bad. In my career, my boots only last me about a year.

I am very happy with these boots. They are true to size; they fit right away when I first put them on. In just three days, they are breaking in very nicely.

I haven't purchased all that many boots before. In fact, these are my first square toe ones. So I was a little surprised that so many brands of boots were not true to size. As it turns out, these are my second pair of Twisted X boots and both pairs are true to size. This important since I bought these online.

These boots are described as smooth ostrich, so I anticipated no to few quill bumps. But there a lots of bumps on the leather, just not the very pointy quill bumps. I'm happy with how they look.

The design of these boots is for a working cowboy, but the very dark but not quite black ostrich make them suitable for nights on the town or at the office.

DryGuy TurboDry Shoe Dryer Warmer

Please ignore that ignorant 1-star review.

DryGuy is the leading manufacturer of boot/shoe dryers. I have used their original Circulator driers (no longer manufactured, but at least for now still available (DryGuy Circulator Footwear Dryer Warmer). I have been pleased with the three of them I've used for several years. They have the advantage of being quite compact, and silent. If you want the equivalent from current production, you'll want to get the DryStix driers (not currently available on Amazon). However, I somehow lost two of my three driers, so got two of these units.

These units have the disadvantage compared with the DryStix that they bulk and weigh about twice as much, but have corresponding advantages.

First, they have work on both AC and DC (cigarette-lighter plug). Second, unlike my initial driers, or the DryStix, they don't rely on passive convection, the have a fan at the toe-end of the drier. Yes, it makes a little noise, but look at this way - it saves you the cost of a white-noise generator. The noise is soft, not objectionable and quite soothing.

Now, as far as drying efficiency.

Shoes and boots vary widely in how long they take to dry. My Salomon Men's XA PRO 3D MID GTX Trail Runner boots are so thin and light that they dry quickly. My custom Limmer traditional Italian-leather boots take a _long_ time to dry. My daughter's The North Face Nuptse Fur II Girls Boots 2012 take forever to dry by any method. Though my daughter likes them, they are not designed for cold-wet conditions, and are basically sponges for your feet.

Fixed dryers work best, but for portable dryers, you can't beat these. Unlike that first reviewer, don't expect them to work miracles. These work several times as fast as stuffing them with newspaper and sticking them in a warm place. And, unlike drying in front of a fire, they won't damage your boots. If the DryStix dry as well as my old passive-convection driers, then these with the fans work almost twice as well. (Having one of the old ones and two of the new ones allowed some side-to-side comparisons.)

Original Penguin Sno Seal Beeswax

Anyone living in the snowbelt will attest to the fact that your shoes need to be protected from the water, ice, snow and salt. Sno-Seal is the real deal. Manufactured in Pennsylvania, this product is made using pure beeswax. The compound is easily applied and they even suggest that you warm the leather on your shoes a bit to aid in the absorption of the sno-seal. I gave each of my three pairs of footwear a good swath of the product, rubbed it in good, gave it a final coat and let them sit near the heater vent overnight. Later in the afternoon I took another clean thick rag and buffed the shoes out, removing any excess. The leather looks great and on a pair of pecan shoes I have, the product did not really darken the leather that much-but, they warn you on the label it could darken the leather. Once you have treated your shoes with sno-seal you can put polish on the shoe and they shine up real nice. A great American product manufactured in Pennsylvania! 5 Stars. By the way, 2 pairs of shoes and 1 pair of boots and I used less than half a jar..., this product goes a long way

Data migration was a breeze. Installed Samsung drive into a sled (hard drive enclosure) with a firewire connector and opened Apple's Disk Utility on my MacBook. Make a partition on the new drive and name it whatever you want (preferably same as your old drive) and it will format the SSD to work with your mac. Started the transfer of 300GB of data from my old HD to the Samsung SSD via firewire to the SSD. Transfer took about 2 hours and total volume checked out when comparing the two after transfer. Once completely, simply swap out the two drives (there are holes on the SSD enclosure for pegs, remove them from your old drive and screw them into your new SSD to firmly and securely mount the SSD in your Macbook Pro. I bought my first pair of DBs (in beeswax leather) last year, and just picked up a pair in chocolate-brown suede to add to the rotation. They look great (the rest of my non-dress/athletic shoes have been gathering dust, as I find myself wearing nothing else with jeans or cords), take a beating, fit well (note that if like me you have feet that are wide at the ball, disregard the conventional wisdom about going down a size), and are pretty much barefoot-comfortable. The plantation-crepe soles are amazing - so soft that you can feel a crack in the sidewalk if you pay attention, but surprisingly durable (something about my gait will wear away a cheap rubber heel in a month, but not these), and the weird-looking bright-white will quickly reach something more subdued with normal wear. Clark's customer service is also great - they will replace broken laces free of charge (as long as you have the full style number for your color and size handy - check it inside the show when you get them and write it down somewhere, in case it wears away to illegibility).

One thing to note about the comfort if you are new to DBs - what I said above applies after about five to ten wearings. I bought my first pair of DBs (in beeswax leather) last year, and just picked up a pair in chocolate-brown suede to add to the rotation. They look great (the rest of my non-dress/athletic shoes have been gathering dust, as I find myself wearing nothing else with jeans or cords), take a beating, fit well (note that if like me you have feet that are wide at the ball, disregard the conventional wisdom about going down a size), and are pretty much barefoot-comfortable. The plantation-crepe soles are amazing - so soft that you can feel a crack in the sidewalk if you pay attention, but surprisingly durable (something about my gait will wear away a cheap rubber heel in a month, but not these), and the weird-looking bright-white will quickly reach something more subdued with normal wear. Clark's customer service is also great - they will replace broken laces free of charge (as long as you have the full style number for your color and size handy - check it inside the show when you get them and write it down somewhere, in case it wears away to illegibility).

One thing to note about the comfort if you are new to DBs - what I said above applies after about five to ten wearings. When my first pair was brand new I was sure for a while that I'd been sold a bill of goods about how comfortable DBs are - un-broken-in DBs can HURT. I'm finding the same to be true with my new pair. But if you stick with it you will be amazed how well they break in, and you too will be a convert for life.

Excellent product. Hard to figure what to order

I have been wearing Doc Martens for 25 years, all sorts of different designs; I currently have 11 pair in various incarnations and ages.

There is a lot of concern because most Docs are now made in China instead of England. The past pair of 8053s I bought was about 10 years ago and last year they finally gave out after a LOT of wear and abuse, though up until they literally fell apart they were still the most comfortable shoes I had. They were also 8053s made in England.

This pair is made in China, but is every bit as comfortable as my long-lasting pair right out of the box. I wore them for a day, and they felt broken in after just an hour.

The bottom tread is a bit different from the Old England to the New China, but it's a trivial difference. The wear is what matters.

I have hopes for the durability of these new 8053s, and though time will tell it certainly seems off to a great start.

so right out of the box i took these boots to mt. whitney, whitney was closed so we ended up doing langley wich was awesome. i was nervous that my feet would get blistered and beat with no break in period. ended up being a great choice ! i have never had a better boot, 21 miles of hiking and not one sore spot on my feet . plenty of support! i do agree with one of the reviews saying that the toe box was hard to tighten up but with a little effort they felt great on the way up and on the way down. i have a wide foot and the 13 D(M) was perfect. plenty of room with out my toes slamming into the front on the way down > at the end of the day GREAT BUY! im now a big fan of keen.as much as i wanted to dunk my foot in a stream i didnt so i cant comment on the water proofing of the boot . i highly recomend this boot! felt like a nike !

I'm co-author (with John George) of Nazis, Communists, Klansmen and Others on the Fringe (Prometheus, 1992) and founder of the Wilcox Collection on Contemporary Political Movements at Spencer Research Library at the University of Kansas. Over the years I've read hundreds of accounts of political movements, ranging from academic histories to frankly ideological and partisan accounts. This book is far closer to the former than the latter and will make a valuable addition to any library of modern political movements.

Kurtz does an excellent job of documenting and footnoting his sources. Occupy Oakland was a very fluid movement with a short active lifespan and consequently nearly all of the information comes from observers, participants or journalists. Unlike longer lasting movements there was very little in the way of media produced by the group itself beyond electronic communications. There was, however, a fair amount of video of the protests that tends to support claims made by the author and helps to weave a fascinating story of a political movement that was far more radical and extreme than media accounts would suggest.

The coalition of liberal, radical, anarchist and Marxist-Leninist groups and individuals who came together in Occupy Oakland had the effect of frightening the liberals in politics and media who initially supported it. Violence was common, as were threats, intimidation and overt attempts to prod the police into retaliation. The nihilism that lies at the base of radical leftism boiled to the surface quickly and it became apparent that it would have to be contained or it would prove a major embarrassment to the Democratic Party and the Obama campaign. Occupy supporters, after all, constituted a significant segment of their militant "base." Kurtz covers this aspect of the story very well.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in America's future.

Sloggers Womens Garden All Day Comfort Midsummer

I purchased these boots because I'm pretty short (about 5'0"), and full-size rain boots are uncomfortable for me to wear. I received them the next day, and the quality is great (made in the USA!!!). It was raining that day and my feet stayed dry the whole time. I was reading other reviews trying to determine whether or not to order a size up as most said, and I just want to leave this review to help others out who might not know which size to go with. I wear a size 7 shoe almost indefinitely in every shoe I try on, so I got a size 7. It was true to size and fit well with socks, snug enough for my foot to not slide around, but not so tight that it was uncomfortable. Therefore, if you're a half size, I would recommend ordering the next size up, but otherwise just order your regular size. Also, for those of you that have larger calves, the boots do have lots of room at top and aren't tight around the leg either, even with pants. :)

Womens Alamosa Mid Waterproof Bluestone

I ordered a size 10 in Malaga Black. I pulled the boots out of the box and they were so pretty! They are less brown and more black than pictured here. Very nice color. I tried them on and they made my feet look petite. So cute! They are nice, well constructed boots with nice-quality leather. For having a chunky heel, they are much lovlier and more feminine than they seem in the picture.

The one problem, for me, is the style is a somewhat narrow-toed style so they pinched my toes. I would say they are probably true to size, but my feet are slightly wider at the pinkie toe joint than a standard 10. Most size 10's fit me unless the toe is constructed more narrowly. They aren't as narrow-toed as pumps, but they are just narrow enough to be unforgiving of feet that aren't a perfect size 10. I had to return them. Other than the toe, they seemed really comfy. So sad they didn't fit! I loved them!
